How far to go?
Originality should come from layout, not graphic whimsy. A color band, a bold column, a deliberate typeface: all get noticed and stay professional. Decorative icons, gimmicky skill gauges and handwriting fonts almost always work against you.

Even our boldest templates are built on plain text in the expected reading order. Screening software goes through them correctly, because color and fills are decoration: they never interrupt the flow of content.
